As part of an overarching strategy to increase engagement among minority employees and improve workplace diversity, Lloyds Bank launched the Race Action Plan in 2020 to drive cultural change, impact recruitment practices and support Black communities. The Plan has a designated team, consisting of 23 Black, Asian and minority ethnic Lloyd’s employees, who collectively form the Race Advisory Panel. Additionally, Lloyd’s REACH Network (Race, Ethnicity and Cultural Heritage) connects, supports and advocates for underrepresented communities, both within and outside of the business. For example, through the REACH network, students from disadvantaged backgrounds and cultural minorities are provided encouragement and support to explore career opportunities in the financial sector. As of 2020, the REACH network consists of over 4,000 members and 700 advocates. It was also recognized as the Best Network at the 2018 Investing in Ethnicity Awards.
